Ey up and a warm welcome!
I’m Bridget, Yorkshire editor of award-winning lifestyle platform, Muddy Stilettos. If you enjoy a bit of fun, laughter, getting out and about, eating and drinking, shopping and socialising, then you’ve landed in the right place. Here you’ll discover what’s opening, happening and unmissable in Britain’s largest county.
As a freelance travel, food and drink writer with a lot of miles under my belt, I’ve been on some incredible adventures including sandboarding in the desert with Ben Fogle, being an Outback safari cook on a Gap Year in Oz, bobsleighing in the French Alps and racing solo around the world in 50 days, recounting it all online and in The Telegraph.
Luckily I get to come home to the top spot on earth – Yorkshire! I live in the heart of the Dales with my Yorkshireman husband and our scruffy Yorkshire rescue terrier Seth near fictional Darrowby, location of Channel 5’s All Creatures Great and Small. I’m passionate about the people, humour, pubs, restaurants, hotels, culture, coast, outdoors, wildlife, walks and heritage in our wide open spaces under dark, starry skies. And as if it couldn’t get any better, we even have wine now here, too!
You may see me in muddy boots more than stilettos, but God’s own country is full of surprises which I aim to share with you, so go on – sign up here to join the journey.
