Perched above the postcard-pretty village of Robin Hood’s Bay, the newly refurbished Hotel Victoria is a Victorian gem with knockout coastal views and a modern luxe twist.

Thanks to a stylish revamp by owner Andrew Long, the hotel now boasts 30 beautifully designed rooms spread across the main house and adjoining Captain’s Quarters (yes, it’s dog-friendly – your pooch is welcome too). Expect crisp linens, antique touches, and everything from Cosy Doubles to spacious Moorland and Sea View Balcony rooms. We’ve got our eye on that view, obviously.

Feeling fancy? The Osbourne Restaurant serves up fresh seafood, Mediterranean flavours and the best of Yorkshire’s larder, while The Lounge Bar, traditional Loxley Pub and Garden Bar offer more laid-back vibes and panoramic al fresco dining. Pre-dinner cocktail with a sea breeze? Don’t mind if we do.

Outside, the cobbled streets whisper tales of sailors and smugglers. Explore artisan shops, stop for a bite, or set off on a leg of the world-famous Coast to Coast Walk, which finishes right here in the bay. With Whitby, Scarborough and Staithes nearby, there’s plenty to fill your days (weather permitting, obviously).
