Nestled between the rolling heather moorland of the moors and the wild Yorkshire coast, you’ll find Saltmoore in the well-heeled and charming village of Sandsend, just a skimming stone’s throw from Whitby. This is the place to go to rest, recharge and recuperate. They say there’s nothing quite like getting some sea air, but combine this with a trip to Saltmoore, and you’ll be floating home by the end of your stay.  

The Sanctuary is the place you’ll find yourself gravitating to throughout your stay. Every part of it is designed to help you relax and recharge. With gorgeous views of the grounds, reserve a double lounger and enjoy drinks delivered straight to your bed. Expect everything from a well-sized heated indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam room, Himalayan salt sauna, and even a Brass Monkey ice bath! There’s a relaxation room should you be having a treatment (highly recommend) – my friend went for a relaxing full  body massage using Wildsmith products and came out floating on air. Until I made her go in the Cryo chamber – a 3 minute full body experience where you’ll experience temps as low as -160 degrees Celsius. Trust us – it’s one of the best things for your mind and body.  If you’re not quite brave enough, take your body to the gym equipped with every possible piece of equipment you could possibly need.

With this being a coastal retreat destination, there’s oodles you can get involved in. If beach walks and dips in the sea don’t float your boat, how about horse riding in the wild North York Moors, a spot of beach yoga or joining in the hotel’s run club. There’s surfing for those feeling adventurous or picnics on the beach if you prefer to sit back and watch. Bring your bike (or hire one) and cycle the picturesque cycle track from Whitby to Scarborough. Enjoy some amazing coastal and moorland walks direct from the hotel, or sit back in luxury and experience the Tesla Model Y as you take it out for a spin.
