If you’ve got kids with, shall we say, different life goals, Web Adventure Park is about as close as it gets to a parenting win. Just outside York, this place is big – properly big – and manages to cater brilliantly for all ages without feeling chaotic.
Inside, there’s a huge soft play area that could easily keep them occupied for hours, alongside Buggington, the imaginative roleplay village where little ones can disappear into their own worlds. It’s cleverly set up so kids of different ages can all get stuck in, while grown-ups might even get a rare moment to sit down with a coffee.
Head outdoors and things step up a notch. Think less playground, more mini world – a trike town complete with its own post office and barber’s shop, addictive ball-pool diggers, and a vast sandpit that invites some seriously ambitious building projects. There are climbing frames to conquer, an Alice in Wonderland-themed crazy golf course for something a bit different and – slightly unexpectedly – a full fairground.
Rides range from gentle options for younger children to the surprisingly zippy runaway train and a genuinely stomach-flipping swizzler for older kids (and any brave adults). There’s also a laser shooting game that tends to bring out everyone’s competitive side. When it’s time for a breather, the animal zone offers a calmer change of pace. But what really makes the experience stand out is the staff – friendly, patient and genuinely great with the kids, which makes a big difference across such a busy, activity-packed site.
Clean, well run and packed with enough to fill an entire day, this is exactly the sort of place you’ll leave already planning your next visit, quite possibly with a birthday party in mind.
