<p>Festival season is upon is, people. And by god we know how to throw a good ole party here in Cheshire. Landing in Cholmondeley Castle, the gargantuan <a href="https://www.devafest.co.uk/?utm_source=banner&amp;utm_medium=display&amp;utm_campaign=muddystilettos">Deva Fest</a> will be taking over the resplendent grounds from <strong>7-10 Aug</strong>. <a href="https://www.devafest.co.uk/music">Happy Mondays</a>, Matt Goss and The Fratellis are some of the kingpin acts, as well as disco queen Gloria Gaynor and Symphonic Ibiza, bringing classics from the White Isle to Cholmondeley with a full orchestra. But this enthralling shindig is not just about the music. There&#8217;s a whole lotta love here for the good life, from silent discos and street food stalls to fairground rides and circus workshops. Here we reveal five things you didn&#8217;t know about Deva Fest&#8230;</p>

<p>Feeling tired and rundown? Don&#8217;t we all. When you want to break from the bustle, slip off and go in search of the <a href="https://www.devafest.co.uk/deva-rest">Deva Rest Wellbeing</a> area, making its debut for 2025. Providing respite from the throb, it&#8217;ll be a hub of all the good things in life: massage and reiki therapists, sound baths and yoga with Sarah Wild Soul &#8211; a free spirited yoga teacher who blends movement, soul, and a little bit of wildness into every session. Plus there are wood fired saunas where you can loll about in the heat for 45 minutes. No kids allowed!</p>

<p>Deva Fest might just be the holy grail for knackered parents. Not only will you be able to sip gin under the (hopefully) hazy sun, whilst crooning along to singers on stage. But you&#8217;ll also be free from entertaining your brood all day, because, put simply, the beasts will be enthralled from the minute they step through the gates. Giant bubble shows, craft and sensory play for the little &#8216;uns, drumming and dance workshops, and outdoors antics with the Wilderness Tribe featuring archery, crossbow, axe throwing, bushcraft and more&nbsp;will keep little hands and minds very busy. And if you&#8217;ve any water babes in the family, well, head over to the waterside where <a href="https://www.devafest.co.uk/watersports">Dee River Kayaking</a> will be offering stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking on the tranquil waters of the Deer Park Mere. All this, plus <a href="https://www.devafest.co.uk/blog/chester-zoo-are-coming-to-deva-fest">Chester Zoo</a> will be popping up (no real animals, mind), bringing animal-inspired fun and its colourful and interactive puppets, originally from Lanterns and Light, for after-dark antics. </p>

<p>Erm yes please. Gin Journey will be hosting masterclasses with four different types of gin to quaff. Don&#8217;t like gin? There&#8217;s wine tasting with innovative wine enterprise, ThinK, who have crafted and refined a Prosecco and Pinot Grigio Sparkling Rosé with fewer calories and less sugar. Prefer beer? Then it&#8217;s over to the Weetwood team who will guide you through a handful of their award-winning ales. Plus they&#8217;ll have their whisky on tap for tastings. Overs 18s only of course. Chin chin.</p>

<p>It really annoys me when you arrive at a festival and have to pay extra for rides that you just know your kids will be desperate to go on. But at Deva Fest, magnificently, you can go on its colourful collection of fairground rides as often as you like and they are INCLUDED in your admission price (open Friday to Sunday from midday until 10pm). They also won&#8217;t turn their noses up at you if you&#8217;re hauling a picnic over your shoulder. Hallelujah. </p>
