<p>Hop to it, seasoned strokers. There’s new life to embrace across Yorkshire’s farms and wildlife parks this Easter. We’re particularly excited about watching some wobbly lambs.&nbsp;Expect some heart-in-mouth moments at <a href="https://www.cannonhallfarm.co.uk/event/spring-lambs-at-cannon-hall-farm-2/?srsltid=AfmBOoq1k6CTE2MT9RQe86xxHvpi3fkjKkY85XK5CXO9fMOUHxJfiYu_" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Cannon Hall Farm</a> in Barnsley, as lambing season reaches its peak between <strong>Sat 28 Mar &amp; Sun 12 Apr</strong>. Watch lambs being born in the roundhouse, cheer on sheep and ferret racing and hop on a tractor ride if you’re brave enough.&nbsp;</p>



<p>For a day out that mixes big-ticket animals with, well, chocolate, <a href="https://www.yorkshirewildlifepark.com/whats-on/special-events/easter-event/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Yorkshire Wildlife Park’s </a>Easter event runs until <strong>Sun 12 Apr</strong>. Wander past lions and polar bears while dipping into Easter-themed entertainment, including family shows and fairground fun across the park. In Towthorpe, York <a href="https://pigletsadventurefarm.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Piglets Adventure Farm</a>’s Easter Egg-stravaganza returns this year, and it’s all about good old-fashioned farm fun with a side order of squeal-inducing cuteness.​ “Pleeeeease can we take one home??!” “No, Mum!”. </p>

<p>Over on the 1,000-acre <a href="https://theconistonhotel.com/event/easter-egg-hunt-lunch/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Coniston Estate</a> in Skipton on<strong> Mon 6 Apr</strong> there’s a self-guided Easter Egg hunt, followed by an Easter lunch. Rock up on Easter Monday, pick up an activity sheet, then set off across the grounds to follow the trail, crack clues and solve an Easter mystery in the fresh Dales air. There might even be a very special (furry) guest at the finish line.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Watch out, though, there be dragons at <a href="https://museumsandgalleries.leeds.gov.uk/whats-on/dragon-quest-the-search-for-the-lost-eggs-hvkz" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Lotherton Hall</a> in Leeds. And it’s your job to find the eggs. This immersive family trail –&nbsp;Dragon Quest &#8211; The Search for the Lost Eggs – from<strong> Sat 28 Mar to Sun 19 Apr.</strong> Follow a series of clues through the grounds to help track down missing dragon eggs. Make a full day of it by combining the quest with a trip to Lotherton’s zoo, Wildlife World, a wander through Lotherton Hall and a refuel at one of the grounds’ cafés.</p>

<p>If you like your egg hunts with a side of Victorian grandeur, <a href="https://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/whats-on/brodsworth-hall-easter-quest-2026/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Brodsworth Hall’s Easter Adventure Quest </a>(<strong>Sat 28 Mar – Sun 19 Apr</strong>) is the one for you. Follow a trail of puzzles and challenges through manicured gardens and atmospheric ruins to claim a chocolate reward (phew) at the end. Wear your knickerbockers for cartwheels on the lawn.&nbsp;Head to <a href="https://www.yorkschocolatestory.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">York’s Chocolate Story</a> for a sweet-toothed spin on Easter that goes way beyond your basic egg hunt. Book the Classic Guided Tour (<strong>Sat 28 Mar – Sun 12 Apr</strong>) to go from the rainforests of Central America to the golden age of York’s chocolate pioneers and learn how some of your favourite treats were born. Go Mini Easter egg truffle rolling (we don’t <em>really </em>know what that is BUT IT SOUNDS BRILLIANT) and have a history lesson with an edible bite.</p>

<p>History buffs or parsimonious parents should journey to <a href="https://edencamp.co.uk/whats-on/easter-family-fun-activities/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Eden Camp</a>, where the former prisoner-of-war camp once again transforms into an immersive slice of 1940s Britain for the Easter break. From Sat 30 Mar – Sun 12 Apr, families can crack an Easter-themed code to uncover a hidden message, then experience the sights, sounds and smells of wartime life in the huts. The Living History Weekend on <strong>Sat 4 &amp; Sun 5 Apr</strong> will also see costumed re-enactors bringing the era to life. <p>If you’re from Huddersfield, why not drop in for creative, hands-on making sessions at <a href="https://thechildrensartschool.co.uk/we-were-here-makerworlds-final-exhibition-at-the-piazza-centre/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">MakerWorld </a>in the Piazza Centre and a whistle-stop tour of the organisation’s final exhibition, <em>We Were Here</em>, before they depart for pastures new.&nbsp;Art in the open air is just the ticket at <a href="https://ysp.org.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Yorkshire Sculpture Park</a>, with huge grounds to roam and bonkers creations at every turn. Over Easter, look out for family-friendly trails, drop-in activities and indoor exhibitions.</p>



<p><a href="https://northernballet.com/little-red-riding-hood" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Northern Ballet’s</a> delightful take on <em>Little Red Riding Hood</em> (<strong>Mon 30 Mar</strong>) is back on its journey through the Yorkshire woods. The 40-minute production tells the story of Little Red, who sets off through the forest, meets a wolf (spoiler alert) and, well, you know the rest. Catch it at St George’s Hall in Bradford and Cast in Doncaster during the Easter holidays &#8211; ideal for a first taste of live ballet without spending too long away from the chocolate haul.</p>

Set in the opulent surroundings of Swinton Park Hotel’s Samuel’s Restaurant, this is Easter for grown-ups (and impeccably behaved children) who like their Yorkshire roast served with a side of live jazz and dreamy deer park views.<br><br>But if folk’s more your thing, the Irish singing legend Heidi Talbot is bringing her dulcet tones to the <a href="https://standedge.org/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">North of England Centre for Arts</a> on <strong>Sat 11 Apr</strong>. Have a glass of Prosecco in the glorious Pennine surroundings and enjoy some sublime vocals.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Talking of swank, <a href="https://ivycollection.com/restaurants-near-me/the-ivy-yorkshire/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Ivy</a> is bringing back its family-friendly Breakfast with Bunny across all its Yorkshire brasseries for Easter weekend. Let the children tuck into a dedicated breakfast menu, enjoy crafts and seasonal activities and grab a selfie with the Easter Bunny as he hops between tables.
