Located in magical York which goes above and beyond to sparkle during the festivities, party goers have the choice of the restaurant or quaint cellar bar to enjoy specially crafted seasonal dining. Available until <strong>24 Dec</strong>, two courses cost <strong>£32 pp</strong> and three courses <strong>£37 pp</strong> (pre-bookings only). Go traditional or plump for something different like Pulled Beef Wellington or Chocolate and Pistachio Arctic Roll. You can even add a <strong>£12</strong> glass of Champagne and have a pound or two to spare (at least cash-wise).</p>

<p>Crathorne Hall’s festive dining options include one where Santa comes to lunch. Despite being so busy, Father Christmas has found two dates in his jam-packed diary when he’ll pop down for a jolly Santa’s Sunday Lunch in the elegant dining room with massive fireplace (<strong>8 &amp; 22 Dec, £42 per adult, £21 per child under 12</strong> including a gift). Throughout December, there are three-course set festive lunches for <strong>£37 per adult (£18.50 per child aged 4 to 12)</strong> or three-course festive dinners squeezing in under budget like Santa into his suit for <strong>£48 per adult (£24 per child)</strong> if you’re too shy to meet the Big Man himself.</p>

<p>Presenters Helen Skelton and <em>Escape to the Country</em>&#8216;s Jules Hudson will be back at Cannon Hall for the popular Channel 5 programme <em>Winter on the Farm</em>, broadcast live from 8pm from 3 &#8211; 6 Dec. It means that you can perhaps meet some of the stars of the show (four legged as well as two legged) when you book into The Lucky Pup or White Bull for festive dining. The set menus are a very reasonable <strong>£25/£28</strong> for a two or three-course lunch (<strong>Mon-Fri 12pm – 2.30pm</strong>) or <strong>£28/£32</strong> for supper (<strong>Fri &amp; Sat 6pm</strong> onwards) from <strong>6 – 21 Dec</strong>.</p>

<p>The Talbot Country House Hotel is in the heart of the foodie town of Malton and its festive dining menu uses an abundance of fresh, local produce. There are lots of welcome roaring fires, cosy corners, sparkling decorations and beautiful views, meaning you just need to draw up a chair, pull a cracker and tuck into the festive fayre with gusto. Available throughout December, the Festive Dining menu costs <strong>£40 per adult and £20 per child</strong> for three courses.</p>

OK, you break our budget slightly if you opt for a third course (<strong>£55</strong>), but served from 11.30am – 6.30pm, you have all day to feast. Or why not start proceedings even earlier with a colourful Breakfast Special Menu (just <strong>£17.95 pp</strong>) of Mixed Berry Smoothie, Green Juice and pigs in blankets with scrambled eggs (vegan and vegetarian options also available). Available until 11.30am weekdays and 11am weekends.</p>

<p>Get away from it all in Christmas-card pretty Beverley where this well-loved hotel with seasonal cheer offers an AA Rosette restaurant or more relaxed lounge to share fun, fizz and festive dining with family and friends. The chefs have partnered traditional classics with local flair offering lots of choice whatever your dietary requirements, even plant-based pigs in blankets. Two courses are <strong>£31 pp</strong>, three courses <strong>£36 pp</strong> available until <strong>26th Dec</strong> (Christmas Day is a different, more expensive menu).</p>

<p>All twinkly, charismatic and friendly, Elsworth at the Mill is just the place to get in festive spirit. This year they have a Christmas Lunch Social on 18 Dec for <strong>£35 pp</strong> including mulled wine on arrival and two delicious festive courses by award-winning chef, Bruce Elsworth. Expect a merry time with wonderful food and great company, though as the earlier event is already sold out, you’d better get your skates on. There are still places, too, for daytime or evening parties for a minimum of 15 or more for <strong>£38.50 pp</strong> for mulled wine, two courses, tea and coffee.</p>

<p>This is the one where friends come together for a competitive experience (yes, just as cut-throat at Christmas) with a high-energy shuffleboard, Winter Menu cocktails and seasonal bites to eat. If you haven’t tried shuffleboard before, Muddy warns you’ll likely find it addictive and lots of fun, especially with friends in (or on?) high spirits.</p>



<p>Throughout December weekends, there&#8217;s a Festive Brunch Social with a resident DJ, a cocktail on arrival and a <em>bottle</em> of Prosecco for every guest from just <strong>£35 pp</strong>. Add bottomless pizza and an hour at the shuffleboard and things are bound to get messy. If you own an outrageous festive jumper even better &#8211; wear it and there&#8217;s a chance of scoring some goodies. Or if darts is your game, visit sister venue <a href="https://flightclubdarts.com/christmas">The Flight Club</a> downstairs from <strong>£47.50 pp</strong>, although as social darts are extra, it’s a budget-buster to get rocky at the oche with fewer air miles than Santa’s sleigh.</p>
