<p>Rejoice York! Three new eateries have launched in the city to satiate our copious appetites. For starters, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/blackwheatclub/?hl=en">Black Wheat Club</a> has just opened in Fossgate in what was Bowler Vintage. The two-storey bistro and bakery seats up to 45 and has been created by Tomasz Mlynarski and Marta Obuchowska-Mlynarska, who own <a href="https://www.instagram.com/kreptruck/?hl=en-gb">Krep</a> in Shambles Market.</p>

<p>After establishing itself in Harrogate, Horsforth and Ilkley, the Italian restaurant <a href="https://pranzoitalian.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pranzo</a> will also open soon in York city centre in the former home of Yo! Sushi, Church St. The menu is inspired by founder Marco’s Italian heritage and notably by his nonna’s traditional Calabrese recipes, which have been passed through the family for generations and which he was lucky enough to enjoy as a child. Mamma mia!</p>

<p>And for chocoholics (yes me!) <a href="https://knoops.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Knoops</a> (no, the ‘k’ isn’t silent) has opened in Parliament Street, around the corner from the Shambles and York Minster Cathedral. Founded in 2013 by chocolate enthusiast Jens Knoop, the brand is built around ‘Knoopology’—the art of crafting the perfect chocolate drink. The dog-friendly venue offers more than 20 different chocolate percentages, ranging from creamy 28% white to the rich 100% extra dark, alongside nine dairy and plant-based milks and more than 20 flavour add-ons such as sea salt, orange zest and chilli. Choose between a warming hot chocolate, a chilled iced chocolate, or a thick milkshake blended with ice cream. Tea and coffee is served too, but why would you?</p>

<p>Two sisters have realised their dream of acquiring a fine dining restaurant in West Yorkshire. Alice Smith and Lily Brooke Day have teamed up to take on <a href="https://www.brooksrestaurant.co.uk/">Brook&#8217;s</a> in the centre of Brighouse, which has been serving the town for more than 35 years. The renowned eatery, which employs 22 staff and has been named among Britain&#8217;s best in recent years, offers a range of starters and sharing plates.</p>



<p>The sisters, who have self-funded the buy, plan to continue the restaurant’s modern British menu, which currently includes dishes such as cured sea bass with buttermilk, pickled rhubarb, dill and parsley oil (yes please!). Yorkshire-born head-chef Dan Maxwell has been with the restaurant for more than five years and will continue to lead the kitchen team.</p>

<p>Agni, meaning ‘fire’ in Sanskrit and Hindi, is a bold and atmospheric rooftop cocktail bar opening within <a href="https://www.uyare.co.uk/">Uyare</a>, at Victoria Gate in Leeds. This modern Keralan small plates restaurant is sister to popular <a href="https://www.tharavadurestaurants.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Tharavadu</a>, and the bar’s cocktail menu, curated in collaboration with Filippos Filippopoulos, renowned mixologist from the all-day café and cocktail bar <a href="https://www.instagram.com/tabularasa_bar/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Tabula Rasa</a>, will draw inspiration from fire, a nod to both Agni’s namesake and the passion behind its drinks.</p>



<p>Expect theatrical, smoky serves and bold, spice-driven flavours with city skyline views – can&#8217;t wait! Uyare is also committed to supporting local businesses and sources ingredients from Leeds&#8217; Kirkgate Market, as well as collaborating with regional distillers.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-even-fonder-of-fodder">Even fonder of Fodder</h2>

<p>The new-look <a href="https://www.fodder.co.uk/">Fodder</a>, which has had its biggest revamp since it first opened in 2009, is relaunching in mid-March. Located at Harrogate&#8217;s Great Yorkshire Showground, the renovated café and farm shop will feature an innovative menu, permanent tasting tables to sample from, a new butchery counter and even more Yorkshire produce than before. Fodder’s support is vital in raising money for the <a href="https://yas.co.uk/">Yorkshire Agricultural Society</a> charity, which supports farming, food and the countryside.</p>
