<p>Arguably the most iconic story ever set in Yorkshire, <em>Wuthering Height</em>s is getting the full Hollywood treatment – and let’s just say, it’s <a href="https://muddystilettos.co.uk/things-to-do/film-tv/first-look-emerald-fennell-wuthering-heights/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">looking a little steamier</a> than we remember (dabs brow). With <em>Barbie</em> herself, Margot Robbie, producing and starring, <em>Saltburn</em> director Emerald Fennell at the helm, and <em>Euphoria</em> <a href="https://muddystilettos.co.uk/things-to-do/film-tv/next-generation-leading-men-we-cant-stop-watching/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">heartthrob</a> Jacob Elordi in the mix, this bold new adaptation isn’t exactly subtle. So naturally, we&#8217;re <em>obsessed</em>. </p>



<p>Though we have to wait until February 2026 to see it in all its glory (sob), much of the action was filmed right here in Yorkshire, just as Emily Brontë intended. We&#8217;re talking windswept moorland, rugged countryside and postcard-perfect villages. The production has made the most of God’s Own Country – and the best bit? You can visit every spot. Here’s where to channel your inner Cathy and get a head for (Wuthering) Heights.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-yorkshire-dales-national-park">Yorkshire Dales National Park</h2>

<p>Naturally the Yorkshire Dales have a leading role in the film with production roaming deep into the <a href="https://www.yorkshiredales.org.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">National Park</a> on the hunt for rugged fells, heather underfoot, and the perfect spots for windswept moments, wistful stares into the distance, and muttering Heathcliff! dramatically to no one.</p>



<p>Top of the list is <strong><a href="https://www.yorkshiredales.org.uk/places/arkengarthdale/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Arkengarthdale</a></strong>, delivering all the isolation and intensity you’d expect from a&nbsp;<em>Wuthering Heights</em>&nbsp;backdrop. The northernmost Dale in the National Park, Arkengarthdale is no stranger to the big screen with its largest village, Langthwaite, already famous for its star turn in <em>All Creatures Great and Small</em>, particularly the <a href="https://www.redlionlangthwaite.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Red Lion</a> pub! </p>



<p><strong><a href="https://www.yorkshiredales.org.uk/places/swaledale/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Swaledale</a></strong>, perhaps the wildest and most unspoilt of the dales, also features prominently. The sweeping heather-covered hills capture the stormy spirit of Heathcliff and Catherine’s love story perfectly. Bring your boots, and maybe a flask – it’s heartbreakingly beautiful here.</p>

<p>The picture perfect village,<strong> Low Row</strong>, Richmondshire, was used for period scenes and it’s easy to see why. Low Row’s cluster of honeyed stone cottages, winding lanes and timeless countryside charm make it a perfect Brontë backdrop. It’s an ideal pitstop for a stroll, or better yet – a pub lunch with a view. Eagle eyes will also have spotted <strong>Surrender Bridge</strong> which features in the teaser trailer. With bleak, beautiful moorland rolling out in every direction, it adds serious gothic flair to any moody day out.</p>

<p>If you fancy making a <em>Wuthering Heights</em> weekend of it, there’s plenty to do beyond the moors. Outdoorsy types can lace up their boots for more dramatic walks at <a href="https://www.yorkshiredales.org.uk/places/gordale_scar/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Gordale Scar and Malham Cove</a>  &#8211; a hidden and spectacular gorge as seen in <em>Harry Potter</em> &#8211; or hire an e-bike from the <a href="https://www.dalesbikecentre.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Dales Bike Centre</a> to explore the dales on two wheels. For a little retail therapy, <a href="https://the-hedgerow.co.uk/pages/gallery-1" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Hedgerow</a> in <strong>Threshfield</strong> is a dreamy destination for stylish homewares, artisan florals, great coffee, and cake in a log-burner-warmed garden room. And don’t leave without swinging by <a href="https://www.instagram.com/two_dales_bakery/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Two Dales Bakery</a> in <strong>Reeth</strong> for some of the best sourdough and sweet treats in Yorkshire.</p>
