<p>With four bloomin’ marvellous days of food, fashion, farming and famous faces (plus the odd chance to flirt with a glass of fizz), the Great Yorkshire Show isn’t just the UK’s biggest agricultural bash – it’s&nbsp;<em>the</em>&nbsp;social event of the summer. Think Glasto, but with better cheese and less mud.</p>



<p>Now in its&nbsp;166th year&nbsp;– yep, older than your nan’s tea set – this countryside icon sprawls across&nbsp;250 acres&nbsp;of prime Harrogate turf, drawing&nbsp;140,000 visitors. That’s a lot of wellies. Top tip:&nbsp;book your tickets now, because there’s no rocking up on the day – they’ve gone all online-only on us. <p>Ever fancied bumping into Helen Skelton while clutching a bacon butty? Or Matt Baker while juggling a baby goat and a flat white? This is the spot. Expect live chats from countryside telly royalty – including the <strong>Nicholson brothers</strong> (Springtime on the Farm), vet <strong>Peter Wright</strong>, and presenter <strong>Christine Talbot</strong> playing host. There’s even been the odd <em>royal</em> appearance. Fancy.</p>

<p>Think country threads can’t be chic? Think again. The&nbsp;<strong>Fashion Show</strong>&nbsp;brings serious style to the straw, with looks from&nbsp;<strong>Ariat</strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Lakeland Leather</strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Maude &amp; Fox</strong>&nbsp;and local textile legends&nbsp;<strong>Abraham Moons</strong>. Keep an eye out for&nbsp;<strong>Joe Seels</strong> (farming YouTuber) and&nbsp;<strong>radio star Georgey Spanswick</strong>&nbsp;on the runway. Who needs Milan?</p>

Over <strong>160 cheese classes</strong> judged on Tuesday, live tastings on Wednesday (vote early – they’re <em>popular</em>), and a <strong>Cheese Auction</strong> on Thursday at 3pm with money raised for <strong>Yorkshire Air Ambulance</strong> and <strong>Samaritans</strong>. <p>Who says farmers don’t do fitness? New for this year, the&nbsp;<strong>Britain’s Fittest Farmer</strong>&nbsp;competition lands at GYS – think beefcakes with actual beef. It’s one of just&nbsp;<em>three</em>&nbsp;national qualifiers, and frankly, we’re here for the biceps and the banter.</p>

<p>Free shuttles run&nbsp;<strong>every 10 mins</strong>&nbsp;from Harrogate Bus Station (next to the train station) to White Gate, 7.30am–7pm daily. Plan your Prosecco around that last bus – or prepare to make friends with a sheep.</p>
