<p>We’re starting off strong with a Michelin star restaurant owned by none other than celebrity chef, Tommy Banks. You may have already heard of The Black Swan at Oldstead (it’s built itself quite the reputation) and that you need to book months in advance to secure a table. But if you’re a particularly big foodie with a love for seasonal eating, it’s well worth the wait! The team grow and forage most of their ingredients in their gardens for a more sustainable &#8211; and downright delicious &#8211; way of eating. The menu changes regularly based on what they can source, so each dish just as exciting as the next. A total bucket list visit!&nbsp;</p>

<p>Tommy Bank’s mastermind work doesn’t stop there – oh, no! He’s also got a more relaxed country pub in the charming village of Byland. You’ll find you can make a reservation here much faster, and the menu itself is easier on the wallet, too. The 19th century inn is exactly what you’d want from a traditional pub: cosy rooms to stay in, an impressive view overlooking Byland Abbey, and a must try seasonal menu using home-grown produce from their nearby family farm and garden. Think pub classics we all know and love, but with a more imaginative spin. Little wonder it’s been awarded Sustainable Pub of the Year 2025. </p>

<p>Castle Howard is more than just a pretty day out. They also grow their own produce to feature in their menus so you can get a taste of the good stuff, too! The breathtaking 19th century house, owned by the well-known Howard family, offers visitors the chance to meander through their perfectly kept grounds (and spot a few peacocks along the way) &#8211; making for a perfect family day out. But don’t forget to head to the Courtyard Cafe for a bite to eat once you’ve finished up your walk. Here you can sample their seasonal salads made with vegetables grown on the estate, then finish up at the Farm Shop to take a veg box home with you. Martha Stewart, who?&nbsp;</p>

<p>Ahh, Swinton Estate… how we love you! This dream land (or more specifically, private estate) is the kind of place that makes you feel lucky to live somewhere as beautiful as Yorkshire. Its heritage dates back as far as the 1880s and boasts a casual 20,000 acres of the Yorkshire Dales greenery. The rooms are nothing short of divine, but guest or not, you can take your pick from their dining experiences. From a contemporary lunch at the Terrace Restaurant and Bar and a quaint Afternoon Tea to a first-class meal at Samuel’s Restaurant, all their menu’s champion produce straight from the Estate including their Walled Gardens. Nestled in the market town of Boroughbridge, this hen-farm/restaurant is a must-visit for all things brunch and family fun. It also happens to be the world’s first egg restaurant on a real egg farm &#8211; so it’s really no surprise it’s a hit with locals and visitors alike. Tuck into a Full Yolk-shire Breakfast (when in Rome) or a fresh stack of buttermilk pancakes to see the difference between theirs and your average Joe eggs.&nbsp;</p>
