Yup! Perfect for slow Sundays, <a href="https://www.grantleyhall.co.uk/bars-restaurants/grantley-arms/">The Grantley Arms</a> is just a quick two-minute scenic drive or relaxed countryside stroll from the hotel and is quite frankly what weekends are made for. Ready to swing open their doors with the grand debut on 14 August, The Grantley Arms will offer contemporary twists on pub classics whilst championing Yorkshire produce. Chef Patron Gavin Swift (formerly Senior Sous Chef at Grantley Hall) is at the helm offering up dishes of burrata with grilled peach, honey–rose harissa chicken, Nidderdale lamb chops and proper Yorkshire fish &amp; chips that actually do justice to the coast. 



Inside, you’ll find all the charm of a proper village pub, dialled up with a healthy splash of countryside chic. Think original fireplaces, rustic beams, quirky artwork, and snug corners made for long lunches or lazy Sundays, all wrapped in a rich palette of green, copper and natural wood that’s as Insta-friendly as it is inviting. Outside? The terrace offers peaceful countryside views perfect for a pint in the sunshine. Oh, and it’s totally family- and dog-friendly, so bring the kids, the dog and your appetite.

Arguably the most famous chef in Yorkshire, Tommy Banks (you know, The Black Swan, Roots, MasterChef royalty…) has added yet another restaurant to his already impressive menu of ventures, sprinkling his culinary magic over the much-loved 18th-century coaching inn, <a href="https://generaltarletonferrensby.co.uk">The General Tarleton</a> near Knaresborough. Getting a glow-up under Tommy’s new hospitality group, <a href="https://jeopardyhospitality.com/">Jeopardy</a> (in partnership with brother James Banks, Matthew Lockwood, and entrepreneur Neil Armstrong) this Yorkshire institution will reopen 29 August with eight gorgeous bedrooms, swoon-worthy interiors a stonkingly good bar, private dining space and a sun-trap beer garden – all wrapped up with elevated pub grub led by chef Aled Williams. York’s favourite sustainable seafood spot, <a href="https://fishandforestrestaurant.com/">Fish &amp; Forest</a>, has settled into a spacious new premises on Grape Lane, opening on 7 August in the former 1331 building, doubling its capacity and adding a bar, courtyard and communal table. Chef‑owner Stephen Andrews stays true to his Michelin-listed ethos with hyper-seasonal dishes featuring Cornish crab, Lindisfarne oysters and local game, transitioned from limited plates to a more inclusive menu of eight starters, four mains and desserts written on a chalkboard. The vibe is still intimate and welcoming, with pared-back elegance and standout cocktails designed to pair with the changing menu. Think seafood, forest finds, and Yorkshire produce done properly, all wrapped up in a glam and effortless city‑centre hideout. Open for lunch and dinner &#8211; bookings are now live. Lunch will be served from 12noon to 2pm and dinner from 5.30pm to 9.30pm.

Open seven days a week in high season, this laid-back new spot is all about proper pizza done right: slow-fermented sourdough, top-notch seasonal ingredients, and no messing about.



Created by Head Chef Adam Maddock with a little behind-the-scenes wizardry from Michelin-starred maestro Tommy Banks, the vibe is relaxed, sociable, and just the right side of rustic. Think cosy indoor tables, alfresco seating for sunny beach days, and a warm welcome for dogs, kids, and sandy toes alike. Whether you&#8217;re dining in, grabbing a drink at the bar, or swinging by for takeaway, this slice of Saltmoore life is one you definitely want a piece of.
